Nuna Parr

Nuna Parr was born near Cape Dorset and was raised by his adoptive parents, well known graphic artists Parr and Eleeshushe. His family moved from a traditional life on the land to Cape Dorset in 1960, Nuna is a self taught carver and started carving at a young age. He is well known for his bears both dancing and walking. Nuna prefers to carve large carvings. He has been carving his sought after bears for over fifty years, with his work continuing to be shown nationally and internationally.
